Soren “Jake” Jacobsen Age 55

Soren “Jake” Jacobsen of Des Moines, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Oct. 10, 2012, following a brief battle with cancer. Per his wishes, the body was cremated. A celebration of life service will be 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Elks Lodge, 1001 Tri-View Ave., in Sioux City. Soren was born on Aug. 19, 1957, to Leon and Dolores (Heisterkamp) Jacobsen. He attended school in Sioux City and later received his general education diploma. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley and working on cars. He is survived by his dad, Leon; brothers, Lee (Melanie) and Kirk (Jenni) and a sister, Vickie (Shane) Haire, all of Sioux City; his daughter, Larrisa of Des Moines; and nieces and nephews, Kayla, Kendall, Kyle and Chris (Sara) Jacobsen, and Barri, Michael and Kirk Haire. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores; and his grandparents.
