KINGSLEY, Iowa | Mark David Chellew, 56, of Kingsley passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Mark was born on Jan. 12, 1958, in Sioux City. He lived until the age of 2 in the Hinton, Iowa, area, and then the family moved to Sioux City. Mark attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School, East Junior High School, and East High School, where he graduated with the class of 1976.

He was united in marriage with Karen Denney on April 20, 1993, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home in Sioux City until 2008 when they moved to Kingsley. Mark was an over-the-road truck driver and worked for several different trucking companies. He most recently drove for Udell Trucking.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building model semis. He was an avid collector of miniature farm tractors and trucks, and he restored antique cars.

His life will be always remembered by his family which includes his wife, Karen of Kingsley; his father, Lowell Chellew of Sioux City; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Gardner of Sioux City, and Crystal Gardner of South Sioux City; his sister, Deborah Chellew of Sioux City; his brother, Steve Chellew and wife, Lisa of Sterling, Neb.; and his grandchildren, Patricia, Catherine, Nicolette, and Nicholas.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Joan; his grandparents; his stepmother, Dora Chellew; and his stepson, Andy Gardner.
